speedzmaster 0 Posted October 6, 2010 This is the movement that's going into it: Total cost for this 7032 project: $550.
Randzzz 0 Posted October 8, 2010 Holy moly, this is one cool project! Is this a one-off thing only (i.e., you lucked into a gen Monte Carlo case/bezel), or is this something the jealous ones (me included) might be able to duplicate?
speedzmaster 0 Posted October 8, 2010 Holy moly, this is one cool project! Is this a one-off thing only (i.e., you lucked into a gen Monte Carlo case/bezel), or is this something the jealous ones (me included) might be able to duplicate? I got the case, dial and hands (not shown in pic) set from David Wong. You can contact him via his eBay store. The Valjoux 7734 movement is from a donor watch. That movement was made in the 70s...before computer aided design was around!
speedzmaster 0 Posted October 9, 2010 The DW 7032 crown takes a 0.9mm stem...just like the original. My 7734-based donor watch uses a 1.2mm stem. So, time to get the proper stem!
Jimster 0 Posted November 10, 2010 How is this project coming along? I'm getting close to starting one. Is your movement a 45min totalizer? Jim
speedzmaster 0 Posted November 10, 2010 Yes. 45min. I'm waiting for my 0.9mm stem.
