Battery?

Recommended Posts

I have a replica Breitling Navitimer. It is very similar to this one:

I've noticed that the stopwatch function no longer works properly. It can be started and stopped, but the "reset" button, which causes the stopwatch hands to return to zero, doesn't work. Pressing it causes the large stopwatch hand, which ticks off the seconds, to "shudder," for lack of a better expression. It no longer returns to zero.

Is this possibly due to the battery being weak?

If so, what are the chances I can replace it myself? I have one of those "horb" rubber balls. I don't want to open it for no reason, especially if the battery is not the likely culprit.

I can pay to have the battery replaced if necessary, but I don't want to waste money if it can be avoided.

Thanks in advance

That doesn't sound like a battery issue to me.

More like a circuit of that pusher either not fully closing, or a dirty circuit somewhere.

Think it would be better to get it to someone who knows quartz movements.
