Nightwatch 1 Posted October 8, 2010 as the title says, converted a few Hixxy P.O.C /Silix cases today....First image shows the watch cases getting ready to be polished. At this stage they have been bored out so that they will take the Threaded Case Ring (or movement holder) also a square peg has been fitted into the case wall, this is the locator (holder) for the brass case ring. The Lugs have been soldered as well as the Crown Tube... If you look closely you can see the difference between the Cali and the 3646 case (see first image) The Cali case has been machined flat on the top surface. This is to take the wider Cali Bezel...in other words if it wasnt machined perfectly flat then there would be a big gap around the base of the bezel as the top surface of the watch case curves downwards..... this isnt required on the 3646. First image shows the cases about to get their final polish, there quite a few hours work gone into each case at this stage... Last 2 images show a 3646 with tall narrow bezel and a Cali with short wide bezel...
