Why 10:10?

Recommended Posts

wencarnacion

Hi everybody. I was looking some official website of watches ( rolex, cartier, chopard, and others ) and I noted on the pics that all the watches have the same time: 10:10. Does anyone knows why all the watches have this time ?

Thanks

Because it looks like the watches are smiling.

In that position the hands are clear of most of the detail on the dial. eg: the logo at 12, date at 3 and detail printing at 6.

If the watch has sub dials they are also usually clear of the hands in that position.

Also there is a symmetry to the hands at that hour. Obviously not the only time of the day either.

...actually, the real reason the watch companies use 10 to 10 is to ingrain the pagan symbol for a woman/fertility, the 'V' into our subconscious, which in turn makes men more likely to become infatuated with watches...

...the pagan symbol for a man, is obviously, the opposite...

...for example, Kinky is a 20 past 8 type of guy...:boohoo:

It's a nod to Bo Derek. She's a 10 out of 10 girl.

Used for watches because it's the second thing you look at after Bo Derek. I wonder what time the wife will be home, do I have time?
