ANDMAN.ELLIPSIS 0 Posted September 5, 2014 Kind of a double edged sword the open case back. I sourced my Omega PO closed precisely for this reason. This one is decorated nicely it has to be said. Here is the gen for reference. Pool... was only saying it tongue in cheek..... I've got a Gen 2014 Safari.... and I completely agree , the rep is really nicely detailed on the back ... When da f...k do you ever, in real terms, look at the back... Give a choice on the rep... I would always go open.... just ordered both SIHH's today as well... Will be doing side by side's of Safari's soon....
Poolsfinest 1 Posted September 6, 2014 Nah I agree. The purpose of a rep is to look identical to the real thing. The one thing they can't rep is the movement. So they stick a window on the back saying "look at my insides!" This one makes a decent fist of looking realistic at least. It's running very nicely too. Power reserve, however, is currently abysmal. ImNotFatImFluffy 0 Posted September 6, 2014 My only fear of getting one of the j12 ROOs is that I hear 7750s (the Asian copies anyways) can have problems, wouldn't want to put $600 initially, plus money for a movement overhaul and time away from me, I am however more likely to get one at some point after hearing the straps are of an acceptable quality. ANDMAN.ELLIPSIS 0 Posted September 6, 2014 Pretty sure if the strap helps sway the balance and help make a decision ... The BT will be better... 2014 SIHH's are simply a cut above....the older 42's
ImNotFatImFluffy 0 Posted September 6, 2014 BT? SIHH?
ANDMAN.ELLIPSIS 0 Posted September 6, 2014 Sorry .... these are the new 2014 SIHH 42 ROO's which have new wider straps with buckles and new dial colour schemes ... ceramic pushers and stealthy looking pusher guards... There are 6 models... of which two have been repped so far.. BT Black themes and Safari... These are the design differences over the traditional 42 ROO's... (SIHH is a watch exposition where manufacturers show their new models every year ...) Hope this helps
