ReplicaRocketFish 0 Posted October 13, 2010 Would anyone advise against buying a daytona with the seconds at 6? Its for a friend and I wouldnt want his first rep to fail him early. Thanks evry1
AllergyDoc 40 Posted October 13, 2010 Not a good choice for a first rep because of high failure rate. If you do, Lawrence offers 18 mo. warranty on his "Swiss-grade" watches.
pollux1 3 Posted October 13, 2010 the older versions are very problematic with movements dying sometimes within hours of being delivered, all to do with the extra gearing to move the seconds from nine to six. You could try to source one of the older seconds at nine daytonas although they aren't as good visually apprently, what with the subdial spacing being off. And finally I hear the new seconds at six movements coming through are supposedly more reliable.
KBH 7 Posted October 13, 2010 I've wanted a good Daytona since I first found out about reps. Common sense keeps telling me not to waste my money.
ReplicaRocketFish 0 Posted October 13, 2010 Thx for the info. I'll try and sell him on a GMT or Sub. My buddy is into gold watches...
