Your first RWG Purchase

OK, so my $200.00 post was a bust...I didn't communicate my intent properly, so here's my second attempt to try to break the ice as it were...

 

What was the first thing that you bought after becoming a member of RWG?

First purchase was a Rolex Submariner 2000 from Narikaa along with a Jorg Hysek Abyss Explorer!

I bought a pam 243 from Robert, followed shortly by a pam 111 from Greg_r

Okay, okay - I bought a Vacheron Constantin Malte Perpetual Retrograde Calendar (this was on the old board before we rebooted it and built this place).

 

 

Wasn't my first rep by quite a long way, though - just my return to repdom

Hhmmm... Before I joined RWG, I knew Mary already, bought about 5-6 Rolleys from her, then I found this forum, and the first buy was grey dial RG Chopard Mille Miglia, A7750, chrono. Til today it's one of my top 5 watches.

I know the first rep I bought was an IWC Portuguese 1939 from UselessTimez, and I think I put down a deposit on the BK/WM9 SD soon after, but after that it's all a bit of a blur...

If I remeber correctly my first watches after I joined RWG was a couple of Rollie Subs and a PAM 090 from Timeshops.

 

After that the watch addiction kind of "snowballed"..... .... and I can't see it ending anytime soon!!

It's the same model, but Oscar didn't get his from me - he bought it after seeing mine on the old board

That was actually my second RWG hook up. This 1680 was my first, also from Eddie Lee;

 

 

You could pick that watch apart with a butter knife for it's flaws to genuine today, but back then it was a coveted buy from very few vintage Rolex reps around. Believe it or not you had to first 'hunt' for a dealer to source, and he would in turn 'hunt' for the watch from the street in Asia. All by PM. Funeh.

 

While waiting for it to arrive I did the usual Noob 'research' well afer the fact and a long lost member 'cockyblaster' forwarded the following link: Redwatches.com

 

By the time the watch had arrived I knew it would be foolish to prance around town with a pristine 1680 Red Sub on the wrist. Too rare. Too obvious. Like the sound of a VW flat four eminating out from under your NSX.

 

But, meh, we all remember our first..................

My first and thus far only purchase was a Rep Rolex Milgauss (green crystal) from ReplicaMake.

BTW...Easy transaction, great product, excellent communications and fast shipping from ReplicaMake.

 

I can't do the "Ska"-esk caliber of review and pictures, but it is a lovely watch, nonetheless.

 

I want my son to take a wrist photo of it and email it to me for the wristie post, but he hasn't yet.

 

When I pay off some huge expenses...I have a wish list.

So far my wish list has six watches on it...
