Withdrawn - Ironbark pen - Slimline - Natural finish (15)

Recommended Posts

graman

Ironbark is a very dense and lovely wood.

Very robust, it has a fine grain with some fiddleback swirls.

Often referred by my Grandfather as "not hardwood, it's hardhardhardwood!"

Ironbark shapes well, and sands beautifully.

This will darken to a deep red with age....a lovely piece of timber.

$35USD + $12USD shipping.

Hope you enjoy!

I wonder if this is the same as what we 'Mericans call ironwood? Also know as lignum vitae. It looks like it. It's so hard the old sailing ships used it to carve out wood pulleys used in the ships block and tackle. I used to have one of those old pulleys years ago and it was an awesome piece. Somewhere it got lost in a move, I suppose.
