ryaku 3 Posted October 10, 2014 I have a problem with a movement Asian 2824 If I pull the crown all the way out and turn the crown to set desired time, everything works fine but the sweep second hand doesn't stop. I have checked many times the keyless work but I cannot find where the problem is. I am afraid some part of the keyless work might be broken or bent. Any suggestion? Thank you
KeNnY 29 Posted October 10, 2014 but with your movement, probably it is out of place not in the gear of keyless or it is snapped
Left Coast Guy 24 Posted October 10, 2014 The mov't can still run without that though... just not hacking right?
ryaku 3 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) I carefully checked the hacking lever was in position...it didn't solve the problem. I am afraid it might be faulty. Edited October 10, 2014 by ryaku

SSTEEL 0 Posted October 11, 2014 Remove the barrel bridge from the rear of the movement to access the hack lever.

ryaku 3 Posted November 6, 2014 Oh...man...I thought it was done but I was too optimistic. Stop lever replaced. Watch worked fine for 6 hours...now it is dead. I can wind the watch but despite that the movement looks dead. The balance wheel seems stuck. Even if use the dust blower the balance wheel doesn't move more than 2-3 mm in one way only. Any suggestion? Thanks again

ryaku 3 Posted November 7, 2014 All things point to the stop lever. Or something else. Must be something else, stop lever is fine. Any idea what something else might be?
ryaku 3 Posted November 8, 2014 As explained the stop lever fix was successfull but after one night the movement stopped running and now I can see the balance wheel is stuck and doesn't oscillate anymore. I can move it in one direction but it is completely blocked in the opposite way. Keyless work is fine, I can set the time, wind the movement and change the date. As said it doesn't oscillate anymore, at all. No idea what might be wrong. Any suggestion? Thank you !

ryaku 3 Posted November 8, 2014 Uhmm doesn't sound good. Is it fixable without replacing it? Thanks 10:
AstroAvia 0 Posted November 8, 2014 It sounds odd to me that the hairspring got mangled by simply replacing the hacking lever. Unless, of course, ryaku messed with the balance assembly and is not willing to assume it!! LOL ryaku, in case you did touch the balance assembly (willingly or not), make sure you re-installed it in the correct position, so that the impulse jewel correctly fits the pallet fork's fork. Refer to the enclosed picture.
SSTEEL 0 Posted November 8, 2014 A hair or something may of got in there whilst you had the watch open?
