4 months to achieve a mod...

Previews, this week end I will try to finish,

what will be improved :

-inserts, improve faded aspect, change.

-lume patina, tweak and improve

-general techs : adjust plexies (cyclop position) then stack definitively with the ring holder to assume perfect position, waterproofness. Stack inserts in place. As now, for the photo, nothing is definive, just an assembly for the picture

-Install bracelets. Riveted for the El Corniño, Oyster hollow midd-links -old style- with DJ clasp combo for the classic 1675

Lume party this morning... Big mess. All hands are reduced as squeleton, then new lume is added

I use different color of pigments mixed with phosphor powder and a background chemical liquid base to mixt everything. Then, once appied, I use black pigments with a min-brush to ad like oxydation/patina on the older El Corniño lady

Sorry, pics are not sharp, I have bought a tripod, next this week-end will be good

The details on the Cornino is simply amazing! From the little GMT hand, the date wheel color, the coin edge bezel, even the SWISS on the dial, all perfect!

Very hard choice as to which is my favorite, I'll take one of each ;)

thanks guys,

This was really complicated, not to build, but to source parts, that a big problem.

Both watches will be finished tomorrow. I will post better pics and all building details. Also talk about the process for interested members list

More pics from the El Corniño, not really good, no sharpness, bad light. Bad because the dial is very sharp, pics from both watches will be better tomorrow

This project looks awesome!

How did you make the small GMT hand fit the ETA movement? Did you broach the hand?

Yup! Trying to spread the love to all forums lately!!!

RA and I have been discussing a bit of the 1675 project on the other RWG. I'm also in the process of building a 1675 from a 1655 case...so far so good, except for the small arrow GMT hand...because I haven't seen any these for ETA's, so I figure you have to broach a CWP hand to the correct size or you make a hybrid hand by soldering an ETA and a CWP together...

Will post more here when mine is done!

But not to thread jack...so...on with the show!!!!

@Chiman,

I have reduced all of the Asian movement pinions diameters to match with Rolex aftermarket hands sold with aftermarket dials,

its not yet finished, need more time to check some features before to launch, I still have the problem to source the classic dial and bracelets...

The old "Corniño" style need a riveted.

The classic 1675 has more choice : it needs the classic oyster with the DJ design clasp - plain or folded links- , or the jubilee.

I am late,

some new pics,

both watches with the 2 different dials :

Left, the older style, right the classic GMT 1675 and 16750 dial

These 2 watches are powered with the Asian DG3804B which is a real GMT movement.

Chinese, yes. But a real GMT designed, not a customized ETA. I polished all blued screws and painted in red the ratchet wheel to give a "Rolex movement" looks like (imho)

my Asian-movement died the first day :)

so i went the ETA-way , but still missing proper hands .... at least the GMT-hand ....

i have one for the 1570 on the way and hope it will fit somehow.

gen 1675 dial and crown is also in transit - so my 1675 adventure is hopefully finished soon too :D

update :

I forgot,

you notice different inserts, I take photos changing inserts to try to find the best design. I have seen pics from Stefano Mazzariol with very old and aged 1675 with brand new inserts, no bad.

Still waiting for more inserts.

I have ruined a lot... the learning curve :)
