Pesman 9,461 Posted October 28, 2014 Hi All As you will be awRe my collection is romping along at a fair old lick and as it approaches the 30 mark (!) I am conscious that apart from a predilection for divers, and 44mm and above that I have only one GMT. That is my recently acquired Breitling World from Tim - alas it has the sunken DW. Got me to thinking what do people regard as the best looking automatic GMT? Can be any take on it but I need some inspiration before I plump for a PO orange.., Breitling below - thoughts and pics - rep or gen welcome. Nothing under 43mm due to my manly wrists! Also have the JLC take...
MetalMickey 179 Posted October 28, 2014 For me the best looking GMT is the Rolex Explorer 2 Polar. Not strictly a GMT as it is more of a 24 hour indicator, but it is just lovely. 1mm too small for you, though at 42mm
Martijn0007 3 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) I really like the Explorer II with the white dail. But I might be a bit Rolex crazy..... :help3: Edited October 28, 2014 by Martijn0007

Daywatch 4 Posted October 28, 2014 The one that by far gets most wristtime because it´s slim, functional and well readable is the 16570 classic Explorer II Polar. I carry this to actual check GMT-time EU vs. Conus like in the running week where EU has changed to Daylight time and Conus not yet. One feature I like is that, when setting the GMT-hand, it actually jumps in 1 hour increments. Use 47mm PAM´s as well on a 7.5 wrist, but this just has "perfect" proportions/ symmetry and is incredibly subtle and comfortable on the wrist.

Well Rolex describe it as a 24 hour and not as a GMT.
kennycoder 97 Posted October 28, 2014 It's a shame you didn't get a new navi world (with fixed sunken date and so on..). Other than that I think this one is pretty amazing:
markeym3 2 Posted October 28, 2014 The Pam above looks sensational ... Just got this and not being a Rollie fan it is quite nice ...
Mike 1108 0 Posted October 28, 2014 B&R and PAM are both different but very nice examples. PAM looks great - if you like PAMs. Rolex Pepsi/Coke started the whole thing and has history. But 40mm is small for you. Happy Hunting and good luck.

markeym3 2 Posted October 28, 2014 Just wanted to add ,, I always go for 42-43mm and up having 8" wrists but have to say the Rollie batman seems to wear bigger than 40mm ,,

JSJ 0 Posted October 28, 2014 The Rolex GMT has a rotating bezel so maybe that is why they don't call the Explorer II a GMT. Explorer II is a fantastic watch, one of my favourites, especially in summer. Normally at that size it would be too small for me but somehow it looks fine. White dial makes it look bigger, and I think the lack of a rotating dial is indeed what makes it 'not a GMT'.
