Mystery Shopper 5,887 Posted November 6, 2010 Welcome aboard. PrestigeWatchCo in the collectors Zone would be a good place to start. There is also a Panerai subforum in the 'Reviews and Photo galleries' part of the main menu which will help as well. You may be surprised, you may be able to buy a couple of watches with your budget. The 'wrist check' in general discussion is also turning into a Panerai sub forum as well! Happy shopping.
Luthier 1 Posted November 6, 2010 Welcome to the forum! PAM 312 cost not more than $220-$250, depend on dealer, and widely available. Ask Robert (PrestigeWatchCompany) or Mary (Watchinternational).

kdaffy 0 Posted November 7, 2010 hi thanks for all your replies...so i did look around some more and have browsed prestige time. i guess a follow up question is, if i pay more, say $400 or however much say a DSN costs is there a benefit of better build quality/movement/etc? Member X 91 Posted November 7, 2010 DSN seems to produce some great pieces but also some with issues, and he doesn't seem to be the easiest to deal with (language barrier, grumpiness ) but some people swear by him!
greg_r 81 Posted November 7, 2010 DSN is generally best for the more 'exotic' models that aren't made elsewhere, but he produces some pretty damned good watches for sure. No idea about the 312, though - the only rep I've seen of that model was okay, but not the greatest...
kdaffy 0 Posted November 7, 2010 i threw dsn out there for comparison purposes - is something like it worth the premium? i am looking to get a feel of a panerai and have something that keeps reliable time and doesnt come off as cheap.
