dfq23 131 Posted December 10, 2014 Got a 42 abyss. Bloody lovely watch but the crown doesn't seem to screw up close to the case and only has a bit of thread to latch on to. Was thinking the stem may be a smidgen too long meaning the crown isn't getting full bite on the whole of the tube and not getting up tight to the case. This sound likely? Is it a big job? MDK 0 Posted December 10, 2014 Huge job, expensive to do as well, you're probably better of selling it to me No in all seriousness if it is the stem length, shortening it is really simple. Release the stem and crown, Unscrew the stem from the crown and just nick then end off that screws to the crown. It will probably have some glue or locking compound on the stem threads so may be a little sticky coming out, you're best to put some back on when re-fitting it otherwise the crown can unscrew when setting the date and time. I guess you could check it by removing the stem from the crown and then screwing just the crown in to see if it is the stem at fault. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
