graman 2 Posted February 8, 2015 I always do these with my heart in my mouth, and this one is no exception. Mallee Root is incredibly hard and unforgiving. Your tools must be sharp and you have to go slowly. One wrong move, and it will shatter on you. You often find voids within the timber as well, which I fill. Mallee root comes from my home state, only from the western districts. Prized by turners and carvers, and burnt by everyone else. This rollerball uses a schmidt refill, and has 20 coats of CA, polished within an inch of it's life. $80usd plus $25usd shipping by pack and track or registered post when not available. $5 shipping within Oz.
