suggestions for selling watch collection & a few other things

Hi

This is my first post & because they're several questions I’m hoping it won’t be overly long or annoying.

A good friend of mine's father recently passed away. He was a compulsive shopper who spent his time buying watches, knives, Tupperware and shoes from Shop NBC (his house was just like a scene from the show “Hoarders†on A&E). He had ~ 60 new or hardly worn Invicta & some assorted other brands like Swiss Legend, Renato, etc (Unfortunately he didn’t have the budget to hoard Pans) Being a watch lover, I volunteered to help her dispose of them, thinking it would be relatively easy. l made a list of model numbers, searched the web for lowest current price & passed them to another friend who is a big EBay seller, thinking he could get ~ 50% of current lowest retail and make her a few $. After 3 months he hadn’t begun to list them, so they are back in my garage.

I don't have time to sell them individually & considering trying a "we sell your stuff on EBay" or bulk sale on craigslist. I talked to a couple pawnshops but the offers were ridiculous. Any suggestions?

Having sorted through (and bought, worn some of) the collection, one interesting result of this exercise is I now love “big†(+46mm) watches. Only problem is that I now feel slightly feminine wearing my good, smaller (under 43mm) watches like a Rolex explorer 2, a Tag link & Monaco & a Baume Mercier. I don’t have the budget to get larger OEM items, but my past experience with replicas wasn’t good. Needless to say, I’m happy to have found this forum! Last few questions (for now)…

Do any of the forum dealers specialize in Breitling or Pan, or does it depend more on the specific model then the manufacturer?

Do most replicas need some type of after purchase modifications to really look authentic? I’d need something that can be worn straight out of the mailbox because I can barely change a light bulb much less crack open a watch case.

Thanks much,

Mark

Kolchak, huh...? Well, Admiral... All our dealers can provide you any watch you want, Nobody has any particular specialization. Some dealers are well known for bgger collection of PAMs, others could source practicall any watch you want. Read more here, ask Qs, choose watch, then choose dealer. Simple like that.

About sales... I would suggest eBay. Also - read our "Sales rules", in case you would want to offer some watches to our members.

Good luck!

Hey mate, Interesting collection for sale there.

Our sales rules here won't allow you to sell 'em for a while yet but if you join up over at RWI ( www.replica-watch.info ) and send me a PM there I think I can work something out. Should be able to shift quite a few of those at a reasonable price. Unless of cause Greg wishes to make an exception here.

Thanks for the replies..

Since I don't have time or ability to post/sell/ship paying the ~ 40% charged by an Ebay selling specialist probably makes most sense.

One of the nicer/interesting Invicta's is a 3845 Russian Diver Quinosar Mechanical Skeleton. I post a pic if I could figure out how, but here is a link -

About my other questions - I've done many replica searches but don't have the discerning eye needed to see the difference between the various dealer's Pan & Breitlings and they look similar. Is it bad etiquette to ask suggestions about the generally accepted most authentic looking replica pan or breit models? Having never owned either brand, I'm open to many different models (except a nav timer) & priority is knowing it looks/feels correct.

Thanks again guys

I'll send you a PM after todays football games Trailboss.
