pollux1 3 Posted December 7, 2010 I see on Andrew's site he has a new 42mm PO out, AR and correct symbol but the lume isn't great.
Silverspeed 10 Posted December 7, 2010 Yes....finally, been waiting for some time for this one. Got to say it looks pretty good long hour hand, decent pearl, good enough AR and a very good caseback incl. the anti counterfeit logo Hoping to get this one within 2 weeks
KBH 7 Posted December 7, 2010 Unfortunately it appears to still have the biggest flaw of them all. The HE valve is both too large and in the wrong position. Unless the pictures are very deceiving. I look forward to seeing better pictures when it arrives.
Silverspeed 10 Posted December 7, 2010 Hmmmm....yes He valve it too large...but it's good enough for me positioning of the He valve looks pretty good to me though Gen 42mm planet ocean New rep 42mm planet ocean

KBH 7 Posted December 7, 2010 The more I look, the more I wonder. Here's a quick review I copped from RG. I hope Carter doesn't mind. I have just done a quick comparison between the new pics on this thread and the 42mm gen watch in my wrist. These are the flaws that I've been able to detect. The pearl isn't identical, although is one of the best I've seen. The HE valve looks too low, and also looks too long The Omega face text isn't fine like the original, it looks too bold. The crown is too long The bezel doesn't look like it's properly aligned, look at the bezel markers at 9 and 3, they're not centered. This could just be that bezel needs clicking along one, but if you look at 11 o'clock alignment it looks ok. Also the date window looks as big as the 3 o'clock marker beside it, which is wrong compared to the gen. On the gen the 3 o'clock marker is smaller. The AR looks too blue compared to the original, I can often barely see the AR on my watch. Ad wrong clasp engravement. This clasp is for the 45.5 ... I'll also add the minute hand looks too short. Now I realize this is just hugely nit-picking but I'm thinking that it's still not nearly as good as the UPO.
pollux1 3 Posted December 7, 2010 I was thinking the same mate, too many flaws to justify purchasing. I love the Planet Ocean too much to buy another dud.

warcelo 0 Posted December 8, 2010 (edited) Also the HE valve position looks ok to me, look at the red line at 50 and remember that's missing one click! Edited December 8, 2010 by warcelo
warcelo 0 Posted December 8, 2010 I just noticed another "flaw" the grey ring on the bezel is too thin!
KBH 7 Posted December 8, 2010 The HEV doesn't look quite so bad after all but as I said, it's hard to tell from that picture. Just like looking at a chrono hand to see if it's centered. It's easy to move the camera to a position where it looks centered. Most of the gen pictures will show that the HEV is centered directly on the 0. It's impossible to tell if either picture was taken from directly above. Huge difference in the shape and depth of the bezel teeth.
NFleischer 4,355 Posted December 9, 2010 Yes the 42mm gen has 'coin' bezel teeth, unlike the the UPO. Overall- not bad rep, but to me its always the crystals & dial that are the tell. The gens are much clearer and crisper
