dmpmassive 0 Posted January 3, 2013 dmp's collection Welcome! Here's my current collection. I haven't done full sets of shots of every watch yet, but it'll happen... Enjoy! Some Notes: Because of an images per post limitation on this forum, I occasionally have to archive photo sets from here to my SmugMug account. SmugMug is an upmarket photography hosting site similar to Flickr or Photobucket but much nicer. Below, amongst the watches, whenever you see a notice that a photo set is archived, just click on the photo to go open the gallery in a new tab. Rank Four: Panerai 127N -- Panerai 009 on Kain Heritage -- Panerai 111 v3 on Kain Heritage -- Omega Railmaster Rank Three: Breitling SuperOcean Abyss -- Graham Chronofighter Overlord -- Hublot King Power Diver 4000m v3 -- Omega Seamaster Ploprof Rank Two: Omega Seamaster 1964 Calibre 552 -- Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic -- Ebel Chronometer Yellow -- Hublot Big Bang All Black Rank One: U-Boat U-42 Orange & Black -- Panerai 111 Toro's Beginner Version -- Bell & Ross BR02-94 Photo Sets Panerai 009 This one was from a member to member sale. Had a few issues on arrival that all got sorted amicably with the seller. In these shots, I have it on a Kain Heritage Alligator strap. Not a 1:1 by any means, but I like this one quite a bit. Sausage base dial, solid case back, Asian 6497 movement and nice blue lume. Archived To My Smugmug Gallery Click Image Above Or This Link To View Full Photo Set Graham Chronofighter Overlord One of my first purchases. I love this one. It's a great rep. Really good case. Everything works just as it should. It's somewhat painful to wear, but it's so bad-ass that matters not. [ Hublot King Power Diver 4000m V6 I won this one in the Christmas VIP Upgrade contest. It's huge! I won't say much as I did a big review over on the Hublot section. Full review here: http://www.rwg.bz/bo...showtopic=40796 Omega Seamaster Ploprof Black This one is a cheapie from Tony's* Christmas Sale 2012. It looks great. The bezel lock button is fantasy, you can press it, but the bezel rotates regardless of the button. * Not a TD here, but is a TD on RWI under asian7750.com Jaeger LeCoultre Master Geographic Great dress watch. Rose gold with white/slivered face. The second time zone is fully functional. Outer dial is fantasy of course. Lume is ok, not great but this isn't a particularly expensive rep. I did a full review of this here: http://www.rwg.bz/bo...showtopic=38471 Archived To My Smugmug Gallery Click Image Above Or This Link To View Full Photo Set
dmpmassive 0 Posted January 3, 2013 Ebel Chronometer Yellow This one's from Toro Bravo's 2012 Christmas sale. It was a total steal at about $150 for this gem with a 7750 movement. I really regret not grabbing the panda and a few others. I didn't even know the brand at the time and figured at that price you can't go wrong. It's got a great look, the yellow accents really work with it. Great lume too! Hublot Big Bang All Black One of my first. Mini review here: http://www.rwg.bz/bo...showtopic=40453 U-Boat U-42 Orange on Black Dial The U-42 is one of those watches that looks really great in the QC's but is somewhat "Meh" when it arrives. I'm going to hang on to it for now but it lacks the finess and finish quality of my other reps. The strap is garbage and is breaking at the holes I use. To complicate things, it's a funny double prong strap so I can't replace with an aftermarket strap and keep the cool buckle. Oh well. Archived To My Smugmug Gallery Click Image Above Or This Link To View Full Photo Set Panerai 111 Toro Bravo's Beginner Version Another first for me. I have the 111 v3 Noob now, but I'm going to hang onto this one for sentimental reasons I think. (Wrong! Sold it via M2M ) If you're just getting into reps, this is a really great purchase to test the Panerai waters so to speak. Well made, well finished, killer lume and a great price. Full review over here: http://www.rwg.bz/bo...showtopic=42530 Rolex Prohunter Milgauss - Green One of my faves. Not too fussed about the regular Milgauss, but the green Prohunter version speaks to me. Purchased from Mary and Rochest. Smooth transaction. watch.aholic 538 Posted January 16, 2013 Beautiful watches and incredible macro shots...I wonder how you cleaned your watches that there is not a speck of dust or fibre visible even in the macros....

dmpmassive 0 Posted January 17, 2013 Absolutely amazing collection and photos! Well done mate OT: What camera setup are you using to take such stunning pics? Canon 5D mkII - I use the extension tubes for anything further that 1:1 with a variety of different lenses. I experiment a lot. I'll put anything from 24mm manual focus Pentax lense on an adapter to 300mm L series lens on an see what things look like. I have a Canon MP-E 65mm Macro for the stuff that's closer that 1:1... dmpmassive 0 Posted January 17, 2013 Beautiful watches and incredible macro shots...I wonder how you cleaned your watches that there is not a speck of dust or fibre visible even in the macros.... Thanks mate! It's funny you mention it as dust is actually a huge problem with macro shots. Especially with the MP-E 65mm when you're shooting 2:1 to 5:1. I typically use a microfiber cloth to clean, then I press Rodico all over the surface that I'm shooting. I try and get it into every little nook and cranny. It's astonishing the amount of crud that's on a watch. Finally, the spot removal tool in Adobe Lightroom.
moredhel 0 Posted January 17, 2013 Stunning shots of a great collection. Some gen sites' photographer might want to take a leaf out of your macro shot book.

rhounsell 0 Posted January 20, 2013 A great collection and amazing photos! Really nice looking display case as well. If you can have a Chronofighter, a 4000m and a Ploprof all in the same row without space becoming an issue, you've found the right watch box.

dmpmassive 0 Posted January 20, 2013 A great collection and amazing photos! Really nice looking display case as well. If you can have a Chronofighter, a 4000m and a Ploprof all in the same row without space becoming an issue, you've found the right watch box. Thanks mate! The box is made buy a guy named Rainier in Germany. Machiavegli did a great review of the exact same box here: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=28473 They're not cheap, but really well made. My only complaint with it is that it's no good for the really thicker timepieces. The Diver and U-Boat keep it from closing all the way. Pam's and the Graham are no problem though. As you can see I've actually run out of room in it. I'm currently in the process of building my own for another 12 out of Zebrawood that's going to let me put the big'uns in it.
